These raisins are produced from Vitis Vinifera seedless grapes and their color is light brown to dark brown. Sultani raisins are dried in a special way and because it has a high sugar content, it tastes very sweet like honey. If they are dried with sulfur smoke, their color becomes light brown, but the most common type of Sultani raisins prepared without sulfur smoke is dark brown in color and is used in the preparation of breads, cakes and sweets.
