Product stats

24 million tons of peppers are produced annually around the globe. The biggest producer is China which accounts for 25% of production followed by Turkey with 12% and Nigeria with 9%. 2.7 million tons of peppers are grown in Turkey of which 60% are Turkish Sivri, 25% bell, 8% sweet kapia and 4% Charleston varieties. Demre in South Turkey is the biggest producer of peppers ahead of Mavi Kent and the Tarsus-Mersin region.
